Woodlands Board Meetings are normally held the 1st Saturday of every month (unless noted otherwise) at 8:15am in the Conference room at Carl's Jr in the Citrus Center.

The Walnut Creek City Council discussed the Community Development Departments proposed work program for the Gateway Shadeland’s Specific Plan (25 acre Safeway lot at the corner of Oak Grove and Ygnacio Valley Rd.) at the City Council meeting September 20, 2011.  City staff estimated this plan would take approximately two years to complete to allow for the number of public meetings, hearings and technical analysis that must be performed on this proposed project.    Staff also recommended that an Advisory Committee (“Committee”) be formed to craft the initial draft specific plan.  Woodlands Association asked that the Council consider adding a few more members to the Committee from area residents and the Council decided to add one additional member from area residents.  The proposed Committee will comprise 11 members representing government, surrounding neighborhoods, local business, Safeway and the Shadelands Business Park.  The deadline to apply for the Committee was tentatively set for 10/17/11, followed by interviews the following week (A City Council Subcommittee would conduct the interviews).  The selections for the Committee will take place the week of 10/31/11.

Committee meetings will be held over a 6-8 month period with meetings approximately once per month to develop land use alternatives for the specific plan area.  In the Spring of 2012, the land use alternatives would be discussed and a preferred alternative (or alternatives) will be selected.  The preferred alternative(s) will become the basis for the draft specific plan.  To read the agenda from this City Council meeting go to: http://www.walnut-creek.org/services/citizen/granicus.asp If you go to item 4b you can find the link with additional details on this item - http://walnutcreek.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=12&event_id=65&meta_id=60370
